The WheelhouseWheelhouse is a three-level apartment project comprises 29 meticulously crafted residences, complete with a secure basement level, integrating seamlessly into the marina-side landscape. Designed by Fender Katsalidis with interiors by Carr, the development balances robust construction techniques with architectural elegance, reflecting the unique maritime character of its setting.
From a construction perspective, The Wheelhouse demanded precision in planning and execution, particularly with the integration of architectural-grade glazing systems and marine-grade materials to withstand the coastal elements. The structure features reinforced concrete slabs and a durable external envelope, ensuring longevity and resilience against environmental conditions. Figurehead's proactive management ensured that the façade installation adhered to stringent waterproofing protocols, safeguarding the building’s integrity while enhancing its visual appeal.
Each apartment was delivered with an emphasis on quality and functionality, featuring engineered timber flooring, stone benchtops, and premium European appliances. The build included complex coordination for services installation, ensuring seamless integration with smart home technology systems and energy-efficient solutions. The secure basement parking level was constructed with advanced drainage and ventilation systems to maintain optimal conditions. By leveraging local suppliers and precise scheduling, Figurehead delivered The Wheelhouse on time and within budget, setting a new benchmark for waterfront living on the Mornington Peninsula.
