Rondure House (flux)Rondure House, Kew is a testament to Flux’s expertise in delivering high-end architectural residences, seamlessly blending precision craftsmanship with innovative construction techniques. Designed by Cera Stribley and developed in collaboration with London’s Tom Dixon Design Research Studio, this boutique development comprises 14 meticulously crafted residences, setting a new benchmark for refined living in Melbourne’s prestigious Studley Park precinct.
The façade’s sweeping concrete curves and arched openings were a defining challenge, requiring custom formwork, precise reinforcement placement, and an advanced concrete pouring strategy to achieve the seamless, sculptural finish. Expansive glazing systems were integrated within these forms, demanding strict tolerances to maintain both design intent and performance. The use of expressed concrete ceilings throughout the interiors necessitated careful sequencing of services, ensuring all penetrations were pre-planned to preserve the integrity of the raw concrete aesthetic.
Internally, the project incorporated high-end materials such as natural stone, reeded glass, and custom metalwork, all requiring specialist trades and careful coordination. Bespoke steel elements, including feature balustrades and joinery details, were fabricated with millimetre precision to align seamlessly with the surrounding finishes. The integration of these architectural features, alongside extensive landscaping by Eckersley Garden Architecture, further emphasised Flux’s ability to deliver highly detailed, design-driven projects. Through technical expertise, innovative problem-solving, and rigorous quality control, Flux successfully delivered Rondure House to an impeccable standard, reinforcing its position as a leader in premium residential construction.
