The BruceThe Bruce is an eight-storey commercial development delivered by Figurehead in Kensington. Built with robust, materials-led construction, the project references the area’s industrial heritage while meeting contemporary sustainability benchmarks.
The podium combines concrete and recycled brickwork to anchor the building in its context, while upper levels feature a setback design that reduces visual bulk and improves solar performance. Skewed brick piers along the façade provide passive solar protection while contributing architectural depth and craftsmanship.
Construction required detailed coordination to execute the complex façade system—including perforated metal fins, deep balconies, and GRC (glass-reinforced concrete) detailing. A 400m² biodiversity green roof crowns the structure, supported by in-ground detention tanks and integrated drainage systems designed for long-term performance.
With gas-neutral systems, natural ventilation, and extensive landscaping, The Bruce reflects Figurehead’s capability in delivering sustainable, design-led commercial buildings with technical precision.
