The height of sophisticated apartment living, Turner Residences comprises 31 luxurious oversized apartments set over four levels in leafy, sought-after Glen Iris. A triple-level basement car park provides ample resident parking without the need for car stackers.
Construction of this $15.8M development will begin with the three basement levels, in-ground services and footings, followed by the installation of a tower crane to facilitate completion of a suspended structure with insitu column and panel elements. The facade incorporates a mix of precast, rendered lightweight feature walls, framed glass balustrade and aluminium windows.
Light, spacious interiors boast a host of high-end inclusions from custom joinery with bespoke handles to natural stone and ultra-compact porcelain bench tops and splashbacks and European appliances.
Following a successful past collaboration with this developer (Lennox Apartments) we took a leading role in the design management, facilitating a ‘fast tracked’ design and planning process that enabled construction to begin on site in January 2017.
The site at Malvern Road poses a number of logistical challenges for our team. The depth of the basement levels, narrow surrounding streets and a number of other development sites in the immediate area mean vehicle movement will need to be closely managed, while adjacent tram lines will need to be carefully negotiated and activity approved by both VicRoads and Yarra Trams.
Construction of the Turner Residences is contracted for completion in late May 2018.
