Olea Apartments, the final release of planned community, Mason Point, is a five level mixed use development incorporating 52 apartments and 7 retail tenancies.
Reconsidering the concept of affordable luxury living, the apartments will offer sleek contemporary finishes, stone island benches and generous natural light. Comprising a concrete structure to level 1, Figurehead will once again use a pre-fabricated timber cassette framing system to construct the additional 4 levels. This supremely time efficient method has been successfully employed on our Oxford and Wattle Apartments projects and is being installed currently at Jackson Green Town Homes.
Along with asphalt car parking and structural steel canopies, the development features ground level brick and commercial glazing, and a facade comprising of fire rated external cladding and glazed balcony balustrading.
Figurehead was engaged through an early contractor involvement agreement (ECI), where, backed by our recent successful completion of Mason Point’s expansive ALBA development, we were able to continue collaborating with the entire design team, ensuring all design parameters, program requirements and budget solutions were worked through for optimum results.
Construction commenced in late October 2018, and while the challenges of a predominantly light-weight framework include various engineering solutions and the sequencing of fire rated elements, Figureheads notable experience with this form of pre-fabricated timber cassette framing gives us confidence that any potential issues will be effectively resolved.
Olea Apartments are scheduled for completion December 2019.
