Wirraway Warehouses

This architecturally-designed commercial estate boasts 10 individual office warehouses totalling 2853m2, including 2292m2 of external hardstand. Each unit features onsite parking, kitchen amenities and container height roller doors, and many include optional additional mezzanine office space.

Constructed from 10m precast panels and a structural steel roof, the impressive contemporary exterior also incorporates Alucobond and vertical masonry panels and a clever sliding louver system. The units are surrounded by thoughtful and appealing landscaping and are located just 5km from Melbourne’s CBD.

Figurehead won this project following a competitive tender process with five other builders. The project was fully documented and we were able to commence construction on site soon after being awarded the contract.

We discovered that the site was affected by a large amount of contaminated ground soil, which would need to be removed before works could proceed. In addition to this, we uncovered roughly 2000m3 of existing concretes slab that had been buried under the soil! We quickly and efficiently coordinated the breakout and removal of the contaminated soil and the in-ground concrete slab with minimal delays to our construction program.

Despite these significant obstacles, 52 Wirraway Drive was completed and handed over within the revised February 2015 completion date.
