The height of sophisticated apartment living, Turner Residences comprises 31 luxurious oversized apartments set over four levels in leafy, sought-after Glen Iris. A triple-level basement car park provides ample resident parking without the need for car stackers.
Construction of this $16M development began with the three basement levels, in-ground services and footings, which, given the small site and one way street access, provided challenges. By methodically working through these issues we able to complete the basement construction in just 2 months, creating the necessary momentum to accelerate the entire project.
Externally, the facade incorporates a mix of precast, rendered lightweight feature walls, framed glass balustrade and aluminium windows, and while incorporating the external aerated concrete panel and the concrete skim coating with routed lines proved tricky, the design team were very happy with the finished result.
Light, spacious interiors boasting a host of high-end inclusions were individually customised by the apartment purchaser for a bespoke finish. Juggling the numerous intricate details of each apartment required assiduous attention to detail, with an instance of two apartments (one above the other) converted to a duplex which needed an internal staircase linking the two.
Following the success of our past collaboration with Samuel Property (Lennox Apartments) we took a leading role in the design management and planning processes of Turner Residences which made for an extremely efficient and smooth running operation. We are currently providing cost planning for future projects and look forward to negotiating further projects with them.
Completion of the Turner Residences was contracted for late May 2018 with the actual handover a full 10 weeks ahead of the scheduled date.
