This state-of-the-art gated retirement community offers luxury riverside living for over 55’s nestled alongside the beautiful Maribyrnong River, just 9kms from Melbourne’s CBD. At the heart of this exclusive senior lifestyle village sits the Rivervue Clubhouse, an elegant community hub featuring a dining room, bar, pool, gym, offices and secure parking. Above the communal areas, two levels of residential space houses 16 bright, stylishly appointed apartments with balconies and contemporary designer interiors.
The Clubhouse is constructed predominantly from post-tensioned concrete with a combination of metal stud and timber stud internal walls and a pitched tile roof. The external façade features brickwork, rendered Hebel and natural stone cladding that complements the surrounding natural environment.
This project was won through a traditional tender process. Since the client had already completed all construction documentation prior to Figurehead being awarded the contract, no design management was required. We did however complete a rigorous review of the design and construction methodology to ensure the client’s budget and timeline could be realistically achieved.
Although fully documented a number of issues regarding coordination of documentation presented themselves through the construction process. While this proved to be complex and at times challenging, our highly experienced and professional project team were able to successfully rectify the situation without passing on any delay related costs or construction delays to the client.
As the Clubhouse represents just one section of a multi-stage estate development, our team was required to collaborate with an internal civil contractor to facilitate access to internal infrastructure, much of which was still under construction. Ongoing developer amendments also meant we were required to closely manage a number of alterations to the original design throughout the construction period, which was also accomplished with minimal disruption by our expert project team.
