The $6.8M development is constructed over three above-ground levels comprising post-tensioned concrete slabs, precast and metal stud lightweight walls and a pitched roof with terracotta tiling. Below ground, a single level basement features concrete piles, shotcrete walls and ground anchors.
Figurehead was engaged early in the design development process under an Early Contract Involvement Agreement (ECI). As a result we were extensively involved in the management and coordination of the design development, which has been adapted to accommodate significant purchaser amendments. Among the most notable of these has been the recent amalgamation of a number of individual apartments bringing the original design of 19 residences to the finalised 15 that are to be constructed.
Construction of the Paxton Apartments was completed in November 2017, with a construction program that was closely managed in order to accommodate a site that can be accessed only by a narrow back alley or a busy main road and is surrounded on all sides by existing homes.
