The Oris Apartment complex in leafy, prestigious Balwyn is a striking contemporary development consisting 26 apartments over four levels and a single level underground car park.
The eye-catching façade features a bold mix of timber batten cladding, horizontal zinc cladding, sandblasted concrete panels and double height curtain wall panels. Modern interiors boast high-gloss joinery, stone benchtops and European appliances throughout.
Having been recommended to the development’s Project Manager by a larger construction company who was familiar with our high standard of work, Figurehead was invited to submit a tender proposal.The tender was successful and the $7M project became Figurehead’s first major residential development on this scale.
Undertaking a review of the existing design documentation, we were able to present a number of cost-saving construction solutions to the client. We then embarked on a process of meticulous and methodical value engineering and detailed logistics planning, developing a feasible project plan that successfully achieved the client’s budget and delivery requirements.
With a construction site located on a busy main intersection, our project team was required to adhere to strict local council and roadway guidelines throughout the building process. Scrupulous scheduling of trades and services and the acquisition of all relevant permits was carried out to ensure delays to the construction program were avoided and contracted delivery dates were fulfilled.
