Situated in one of Melbourne’s most exclusive and desirable suburbs, Opus Apartments offer the epitome of elegant apartment living, nestled discreetly within Malvern’s immaculate tree-lined streets and gardens. This three-level complex includes 16 individually designed residences of uncompromising quality and sophistication located just minutes from High Street’s luxury shopping and dining precinct.
The building consists of a concrete substructure with a classic European style masonry façade. Interior features include coffered ceilings, distinctive chevron parquetry flooring, marble bench tops and fireplaces, full-wall tiling and premium joinery throughout.
Figurehead was awarded this project after entering into a competitive tender process. Having been nominated as preferred builder, we then engaged in a comprehensive value-management process that saw us ultimately delivering substantial savings to the client, without compromising the integrity of the design or the high-end finished product.
We commenced construction of the Opus Apartments in September 2014. Site access restrictions prevented us from using precast panels above the basement level car park, but we were able to adapt the design to incorporate a combination of in situ concrete and block work building materials. Some painstaking co-ordination of building services and structures was required to accommodate the generous ceiling heights and coffered feature detailing. This was managed diligently by our team and despite a rigorous programming schedule, the project was delivered on time and to a superlative standard in January 2016.
