This sleek three-storey office complex in trendy Cremorne is designed to complement the unique industrial charm and character of the surrounding suburbs. The $4M boutique development incorporates a precast panel and steelwork façade, bright modern interiors, undercover parking and balconies on both the first and second floors.
Figurehead won this project through a competitive tender process, expertly engineering the design development and installation of an innovative ducted mechanical air conditioning system to achieve a superior Green Star energy rating. We also managed the design and installation of the impressive architectural staircases.
With construction commencing in February 2012, the site’s location on busy Balmain Street required Figurehead to work through some challenging site access and ‘buildability’ issues. Every inch of space on this site had been incorporated into the structural design, which meant we were building right up to the boundaries on every side of the site. Further to this, differing ground conditions meant we needed to rapidly adapt to design changes allowing for a revised screw pile design.
Our proactive and flexible approach to design and construction meant that despite these challenges, the Richmond Office Building project was successfully completed 9 weeks ahead of the contracted completion date, in November 2013.
