This contemporary $6M development in the heart of thriving, multicultural Box Hill consists 22 one-and-two bedroom apartments over 4 levels, as well as a basement level car park.
The facade features high-performance lightweight cladding, ribbed cladding and intricate awnings, creating a sophisticated neutral exterior that harmonises withthe surrounding environment. Natural timber panelling around the balcony and bedroom windows complement the raw precast form and white rendering. Luxurious internal finishes include stone bench tops, SMEG appliances, full height tiled bathrooms and high-performance glazing.
Initially engaged to manage the project through the feasibility and design stages, Figurehead were involved with every aspect of the design, assessment and planning of this development. We partnered with the client to ensure a finished product of exceptional form and quality that would also achieve their budget and delivery timeframes.
Based on the high standard of our work in these initial stages, the developer engaged us as builder for the project, and we commenced work on the site in May 2013.
The site itself presented a number of challenges to construction. When asbestos was discovered in the soil, we safely and effectively managed its removal with minimal interruption to the construction schedule and budget.
An existing clearway zone at the front of the site on busy Station Street meant watertight programming and scheduling of trades was required – and achieved. In addition to this, overhead power lines restricted access, so we made some smart and cost-effective adjustments to the structure, minimising crane requirements and avoiding costly delays.
“Their professionalism and ability to deliver at this level of the market is second to none.”
